Our recommendations
- A Walk-a-thon should be carried out every year to raise money to make our environment safer.
- We want the teachers and parents to share their cars to decrease pollution.
- We want footprints on the pavement to indicate where our safe routes are.
- We think traffic lights should stay red for longer so people can walk across without being rushed.
- We need a time to tell grown ups about what is wrong.
- We should have our own website to tell others about our work.
It's here and you are looking at it!
- The council should keep in touch with us about what they are doing.
- We want lockers to keep our bikes safe from being robbed.
Our wish has been granted! St.Thomas's asked for a bikeshed and we took it up to the Council. Now we have a beautiful bikeshed. It's a blue and yellow shed and the cover is clear and you can see the bikes inside it. Lots of teachers and pupils use it. We'd like to say thank you.
- We want to have a walking bus and ask parents to take it in turns to look after the children on their journeys.
- We recommend that children should have the same teaching on "Safe Routes" as us. Its got to do with all the subjects in the school and this means it can carry on.
- We want road safety and cycle safety training sessions to make the environment safer for children.
- Each year we can have a Children's Parliament to share our concerns.
- People should be stopped from parking in the No Parking places outside our school.
- We want to make a gateway at the beginning of our school road to show drivers they are entering a safe route and have to slow down.
- We want someone to help us cross the roads near our school.
- We would like to close the school road at busy times so it is safer for us.
- We recommend that bus drivers should be trained properly to improve people's safety.
